Week 4 of VB18
This week felt like another grueling journey. However we had several seminars that were pretty enriching not only for our entrepreneurial path but also beneficial towards self improvement. Dr. Lin gave a talk on Inner Engineering, which essentially covered topics methods of goal setting, raising and conditioning our minds to be more aware and mindful with our surroundings using our five senses. This was all related to our ability to be effective story tellers. Ideally, these activities have a wide range of applicability, ranging from building effective pitching strategies to creating immersive content for a product or brand purposes.

The most common issues people face when attempting to verbally describe observations seems to be finding the right words, omitting first person perspective framing, and missing out on one or two senses. We predominantly rely on our visual observations to describe our surrounds, however easily forget that touch, smell, and sounds, can also provide indispensable information related to observations. These were just some of the parts from this week’s Inner Engineering.

When we begin to cultivate habits for enhancing basic sensory perceptions, we give ourselves greater opportunities to acquire clues, cues, and insights, within a short time frame. Inner Engineering program this week was definitely a software upgrade for our cognitive operating system. Can’t wait for the next OS update.
